Residential Homes Perform Strongly Against National Ofsted Benchmarks
Ofsted recently published its annual Children's Social Care in England 2026 report, which provides an overview of children's social care services across the country, examining provider numbers, capacity and inspection outcomes.
Keys’ latest data shows that 94% of the children's homes operated by Keys across England are rated Good or Outstanding, compared with a national average of 82%. The figures also show that:
The results reflect the work being undertaken across Keys' residential children’s homes to provide stable, trauma informed and supportive homes for children and young people with a range of complex needs.
Several homes have demonstrated a particularly consistent track record over a number of years including Ashbank which has been judged Outstanding at seven consecutive inspections and Becca House which has maintained an Outstanding rating for 12 years.
Pauline Paterson, Chief Quality Officer at Keys, said: "The latest Ofsted figures provide an important benchmark for the sector and show that, overall, our homes continue to perform strongly against national standards.
"Inspection ratings are only one measure of quality, but they do provide assurance for children, families, commissioners and stakeholders that services are delivering safe, effective care and support.
"We're particularly pleased to see the consistency achieved by our many homes who achieve Outstanding gradings year on year. Sustaining Outstanding ratings over many years requires committed leadership, experienced teams and a continuing focus on the needs of children and young people. It is an achievement which cannot be underestimated.
