Celebrating R.E. Ewing: The Wall of Becoming
We recently had the absolute privilege of celebrating an incredible achievement.

At just 16 years old, R.E. Ewing is now a published author.
The Wall of Becoming is R’s debut book, sharing his reflections and experiences of growing up through the care system. It is honest, powerful and deeply personal offering an insight into R’s journey while reminding us what can happen when a young person is given the space, support and encouragement to pursue their ambitions.
R lives in a Keys residential children’s home, and we have been incredibly proud to support his ambition to see his story published. The launch event was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate everything he has achieved so far.
Watching R stand in front of a room full of people, being interviewed and speaking so openly about his experiences was genuinely inspiring.
One of the things R said during the evening really stayed with us:
“Hope and belief are superpowers.”
And he has certainly shown what those superpowers can achieve.
From writing his story to seeing it become a published book, R has achieved something extraordinary at an age when many people are only just beginning to find their voice.
And this is only the beginning.
We couldn’t be prouder of R. Not just for becoming a published author, but for the courage, creativity, determination and tenacity he has shown along the way.
Congratulations, R. We can’t wait to see what you do next.
