Clairmont
Clairmont is a female-only residential family assessment centre in Wellington, Telford, supporting up to five families and their babies at a time. It assesses parenting capacity for mothers facing significant mental health challenges, including recovery from post-partum psychosis, and for survivors of domestic abuse, often alongside learning difficulties or substance misuse.
Assessments run for 14 to 24 weeks, delivered by a team trained in the trauma-informed Keys Connect model, and the centre is rated Good by Ofsted.

About the centre
Clairmont is our female-only family assessment centre in Wellington, Telford, with particular expertise in supporting women facing significant mental health challenges and survivors of domestic abuse. We provide a stepping stone for mothers recovering from post-partum psychosis or living with enduring mental health issues, often alongside additional needs such as learning difficulties or substance misuse.
With space for up to five families, Clairmont offers a welcoming environment with en-suite bedrooms, communal spaces, a nursery, laundry facilities and a secure garden. Placements typically range from 14 to 24 weeks, ensuring a thorough assessment at a gentle pace that allows families to heal.
Our support process
Support is delivered by a skilled team trained in the trauma-informed Keys Connect model, keeping our approach sensitive to each family's experiences and needs. Our process includes:
- Initial assessment — understanding the unique needs and challenges of each family.
- Tailored support plans — creating personalised plans to address specific issues and promote positive outcomes.
- Ongoing monitoring — regular check-ins to adjust support as needed.
- Feedback and evaluation — making sure families are satisfied with the support and making improvements where needed.
